I love all sorts of chocolate except white chocolate. White chocolate isn’t even real chocolate! Recently, I was left with a whole heap of white Toblerone mini bars when we finished all the dark and milk bars from a mixed bag. I figured one way to get rid of them was to make a cake. In good time too, Mangy needed to bring something into work for morning tea. Continue reading White Toblerone and Lime Cake
Mini Chocolate Chip Muffins
You know that feeling when your child comes up to you just before bedtime and quietly confesses to having forgotten to complete a science project that is due the next morning? Well, we had our own version of this panic last night. Continue reading Mini Chocolate Chip Muffins
Waffles
My brother is visiting at the moment and as he’s my only sibling (hopefully – my dad was a flower child, so you’d never know), I’ve been spoiling him quite a bit. He was pretty hung over on Friday morning, so I thought waffles would wake him up a bit. Aren’t I sweet (awww..)? Continue reading Waffles
Pandan Kaya Bread and Butter Pudding
It has been 2 years since my very first post. Where has the time gone? So much has happened over the last 24 months. Our lives have changed so much, mostly for the better. Appam Balik
I am addicted to the combination of crushed peanuts, sugar and a pinch of salt and will happily eat bowlfuls of this for breakfast, lunch and dinner (and any meal in between!). Continue reading Appam Balik

Medjool Dates with Brie
Dates stuffed with Brie is a dinner party staple at my aunty’s. She’d make sure the cheese was at room temperature before serving. When I make it, take it a step further and stick the dates under a hot grill before serving.
I like it both ways, cold and sweet dates with creamy Brie or warm gooey cheese and caramlised dates. If you’re trying this recipe at home, you’re bound to snack on a few pre-grilled dates, so you’ll get to try it both ways. Continue reading Medjool Dates with Brie
Almond Biscuits
These biscuits are beautiful and taste even better the next day. The original recipe is from here. I’ve modified it slightly. My version below. Continue reading Almond Biscuits
