My dad was in India recently and was invited to stay with a friend at his mango plantation. Continue reading Mango & Almond Salad
Fennel, Orange & Grapefruit Salad
This is the perfect summer salad. So refreshing and just bursting with goodness. Serve it cold with grilled fish or chicken and it’ll make you feel like you’re on a Mediterranean holiday!
Spicy Cornflakes Mixture
We make this so often at home that I can’t believe I’ve never blogged about it. Everytime we sit down to watch an Indian movie, we’ll have a bowl of cornflake mixture sitting in between us. Homemade mixture is so much better than store bought, you can add all your favourite things and omit the stuff you don’t like. Also it’s surprisingly quick to prepare. Continue reading Spicy Cornflakes Mixture
Masala Pav
Since my last Pav Bhaji post, I must confess to having pigged out on ‘real’ Pav Bhaji many times in India now. I am officially an addict and can’t get enough of this spicy potato mash-up. Continue reading Masala Pav
Mac & Cheese
Mangy absolutely loves Mac n Cheese. Sometimes, I feel like he has the diet of a four year old. He could happily live on cake, Mac n Cheese and chicken wings! Continue reading Mac & Cheese
Idli
I’ve never had much luck in getting idli batter to ferment, but last night I gave it another shot! I think I know why I got it wrong all these years, I simply didn’t add enough water (silly me!). I did a little research yesterday and came across a blog on idli making and troubles that particular blogger had. She said adding more water to the batter worked for her, so I thought I didn’t have much to lose, and it worked! Continue reading Idli

Garlic Noodles
I caught the tail-end of a program on TV the other night and it was an interview of a chef. He was going on and on about these garlic noodles and how he desperately needed to steal the recipe. I was so intrigued by it all! The noodles looked so simple, even bland. There was nothing to it. So I did a quick google and found out that he was talking about An’s Garlic Noodles. Continue reading Garlic Noodles
Scallop Sandwich & Chilli Mayo
I haven’t been posting much as we’ve been pretty busy with work, visitors, travelling etc. We have also been eating out far too much and last night I decided we really need to cut down on the gluttony. This recipe was really quick to throw together (we always have frozen scallops in our freezer) and the result was better than any gourmet meal. Simple and light, but still very interesting and tasty. Continue reading Scallop Sandwich & Chilli Mayo
Vegetable Manchurian
We recently bought a new dining table and decided to have a little party to break out the table. I had my lovely sister in law, her mum and brothers and my grandmother over for dinner. Instead of the same old, I thought I might try some Indo-chinese recipes. This Vegetarian Manchurian recipe was a huge hit. There is no egg in the recipe, so it’s 100% vegetarian. You could use any combination of vegetables, so be creative! Continue reading Vegetable Manchurian
