Coconut Coriander Chutney


Here’s my version of this popular chutney. Serve with dosas or idlies. 

You’ll need (grind together):

  • 200g fresh coconut
  • 1 inch piece ginger
  • 6 green chilies
  • 1 cup coriander leaves
  • 3 small onions (peeled)
  • water as needed


  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • pinch of hing
  • curry leaves
  • salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil

Heat oil, add mustard seeds. Once they pop, add sesame seeds, hing, curry leaves and stir well. Add coconut paste and salt to taste. Enjoy!
