Almond Biscuits
We found these biscuits in a little cafe near the apartment we used to live in. The biscuits were lovely and super decadent as they were made purely out of almond meal. Unfortunately, they also made a huge dent in our savings at $6 for 4 little biscuits! Continue reading Almond Biscuits
Prawn Koftas Dry or with Gravy
Prawn Kofta curry is the first dish I ever cooked for Mangy when we were dating back in thoooose days, it’s probably the dish that convinced him to marry me! I didn’t have a recipe and sort of made it up as I went. Surprisingly it turned out really well! I never cooked it again, not because I didn’t want to, but simply because for the life of me, I couldn’t remember the recipe! Continue reading Prawn Koftas Dry or with Gravy
Chocolate Cake with Nutella Icing
Buffalo Prawns
This prawn recipe is incredibly tasty and so easy to prepare. Great as finger food for a party, you’ll have your guests at your feet begging for more! You can cook the prawns two ways, in a really hot pan or on the BBQ. If you’re using wooden skewers, don’t forget to soak the skewers in water for at least half an hour – otherwise you’re in for a really hot party! Continue reading Buffalo Prawns
Low Carb Potato Pancakes
Here’s another recipe. They’re like Pancake Parlour’s Potato Pancakes. If you’re not diabetic or not on a low-carb regime, feel free to substitute ingredients with regular mash and your favourite pancake mix. Continue reading Low Carb Potato Pancakes
Spicy Baked Eggs
I love Ajvar, especially the extra hot variety. This time I thought I’d mix it up with a sweet sauce to mellow the heat a little. The combination is the perfect balance of flavours, and in my opinion, it actually tastes better than regular Ajvar! The sauce goes really well with eggs and this recipe is incredible easy and really impressive. You can prepare multiple serves at a time, so it’ll be great to serve a crowd. Continue reading Spicy Baked Eggs
Low Carb Roti
If you’re diabetic or on a low carb diet, the hardest thing to give up is rice or roti. I have yet to find a good replacement for rice, but this roti recipe isn’t too bad. Continue reading Low Carb Roti

Fried Okra
Mangy’s mum made this for us when we were in India last year. I couldn’t believe how tasty okra could be until I tried this! It’s also super quick and great for a mid-week dish. Continue reading Fried Okra
